Ive got a rio 400 5ft x 2ft x 2ft with a Fluval FX5 Pump and im thinking ive gone a bit mad with my stock...

Ive got,
1x Silver Arowana
1x Fire Eel
1x Black Ghost Knife
1x Black Lancer Catfish
1x Synodontis Catfish
1x Pim Pictus Catfish
1x Pangasius Catfish
2x Columbian Shark Catfish
1x Common Plec
1x Royal Whiptail Catfish
5x Silver Sharks
2x Moonlight Gouramis

At the moment theres PLENTY of room for everyone as they are all very young but I know half of these fish get big (3 of which grow bigger than 3 ft). Im thinking about a complete Re-Stock but I dont think Ive got it in me to depart from my fire eel arowana and black ghost knife... But i like the idea of keeping a lake milawi cichlid tank... what are my chances of gettin away with keeping the fire eel, arowana and BGK in a cichlid tank? 2nd to none i bet :( and how long can i keep an arowana in my tank?

Yes massivley lots of monster fish in there that need a monster tank. Is the Arrowana a Silver or a Silver Jardini?

The fish I would rehome are

1x Silver Arowana - depending on above question though still might be too small for a Jardini
1x Fire Eel - massive creatures really really massive fish look on youtube and there is no shortage of 3 foot specimens and they are active fish
1x Pangasius Catfish - enough said one of the monster fish that you see all the time
2x Columbian Shark Catfish - might be okay size wise but these are brackish water fish
5x Silver Sharks - arguably suited to the tank but when they are all adults they will cause such a ruckus from their speed and frantic swimming.

1x Royal Whiptail Catfish - what does this look like? Is it quite twiggish in its appearance? If so it will not survive in that tank for long they are quite fragile fish and easily spooked from eating. If its a Royal Panaque of some kind it will be fine.

The fish I would keep and restock around are - (I have also bumped these fish up to their school levels and also put in a few alternatives that would be better suited to long term life in the tank with the mix of other big fish. ie the denison barbs instead of the silver sharks just because of similarity yet smaller adult size.

8x Denison Barbs - in place of the Silver Sharks
1x Black Ghost Knife
1x Black Lancer Catfish
1x Synodontis Catfish
5x Pim Pictus Catfish
1x Common Plec

Then some more room for some open water fish rather than bottom dwellers. Maybe a feature cichlid or two.

Wills

I missed out on a couple of fish because they didn't have it, but your tank will be way overstocked once the fish grow up!

Edit* apparently I can't post that website... ill Pm you

Edit* can't pm you... post your email if you want the site, its a really helpful stocking website that lets you know any problems you have with your tank.

how many gallons is that? im not even sure the atlantic ocean has that many fish (anymore atleast)

do they get along?

hm... i would have guess your Rio 400 was 400L = 105 USG, but based on the measurements, its more like 550L = 150 USG...

Either way - yes you are over-stocked.

Also i would consider getting a 2nd filter, as the Fx5 is good, but you might want more

It's called Aq Advisor. At least that's a good one that I use. Just add .com at the end of that.
