10 US gallons, heavily planted and cycled, with lots of bogwood and an internal filter, rock solid parameters:

5 African Dwarf Frogs
7 Ghost shrimp
3 Ottos or Cories

Would that be over stocked?

I don't own them yet, but I'm contemplating owning 'em. My alternate tank ideas, I know aren't over stocked. This is the only one that makes me think it miiight be overstocked.

Just FYI:

Alternate Tank Ideas
*3 ADFs, 7 Ghost Shrimp, 1 Betta (female)
*5 ADFs, 7 Ghost Shrimp, 3 Amano or Cherry shrimp
*3 ADFs, 7 Ghost Shrimp, Trio of small schooling fish
*Female Betta Tank
*Dwarf Species Tank

etc etc etc.... It's just the 5 ADF and 3 Otto/Cory combination that I'm not so sure about...

yeh should be fine, shrimp don't really add much to the bioload and cories and ottos are low waste producers anyway

Reaaally?

Lol, does that mean I could get away with

5 ADFs
7 Ghost Shrimp
3 Ottos
1 Betta, Female

If I go 1G per Frog, and 3G for my Otto shoal, that'd leave me with just exactly enough room for 1 Betta, shouldn't it?

*hadn't thought of that combo...

the more the merrier :)

male or female betta will be very happy in such a setup soritan!
i'd go as far as keeping a trio of female bettas in there

be warned any betta might attack the shrimps though, the frogs might take a swing at the shrimp too... but ghost shrimps are sold as feeders anyway!

 Whoa, I didn't think I could get away with that..

I actually have my ADFs in with my shrimp, right now (see sig), and so far my ADFs are quite well behaved as far as the shrimps go.

You're right. I like the shrimps, they're fun to watch, but I wouldn't waste my tears on 'em if they became 'lunch'. *nods*

My last betta, Furin, didn't care about ADFs or Shrimps... he was mostly a 'top dweller' and never really cared about what went on below. It's one of those 'per betta' things, I know.

you are in the same sort of desicion pattern as me! except iv got most of the fish.. ten gallon planted
2 otos
1 female betta
2 ADFs
and ,well i did have 5 danios but they have been disapearing somewhere in the last 24 hours and now i have one.. who is going back to the store if he doesnt disapear too and il probably get a few small tetras, neons or something :)

*nods* After you add a betta, there's only so much you can add after that. Persnickity little things.

Well I barely can spot out ghost shrimp when I go to the LFS. They usually jump on the glass and start scaring me. But for the frogs they are waste makers. You propably could have 3 female bettas.

My ghost shrimp honestly tend to be the most visable member of my tank, at the moment. Almost none of them are simply clear, they all have some kind of pigmenting to them -- this is normal.

They scurry about and swim and keep things in order, for me. If they'd only eat more algea they'd be the perfect little crew of grounds keepers.
