Are there any huge implications to doing this other than a dirty tank? I have to, to get it to the bottom feeders.

What do you feed? Yes there are implications. Food rotting in your tank is equivialant to having more fish. The food breaks down into ammonia increasing the overrall bioload of your tank. Try some sinking foods. Put the flake on one side of the tank and drop the sinking food in on the other. You could also get a feeding ring to make all the greedy upper-level feeders go to one spot to feed.

ok thanks.

believe it or not, it's my betta that hogs all of the food.. behind him, the platies.
