Over Stocked Or Ok ?

after finally identifying my fish (thanks guys) on previous topic and finally measured and worked out my tank full size (using the calculator on here again thanks ) im worried my tank is too big i have had tropical fish for a while but still know about as much as the clerk who sold me 2 rasbora and two rainbow fish instead of danios (silly i know)

my tank is a 50 litre (not 70 as i had been told... finding a new lfs)

its 59x29x29 cm tank and houses

one rainbow fish 3 inchs
2 rasbora 2.5 inchs
4 zebra danio 3X1.5inchs 1x1inchs
one pleco (leopard spotted) 5 inch

am i overstocked if so what can i do ?

or if im understocked what fish can i add

the guy at my lfs said i could fit 20-30 fish in the tank but im a bit worried about that figure

the rainbows will need to go.
you could have
1 honey gourami
4 rasbora
4 zebra daino
and 4 corys

what type of rainbow is it? some get big and they need to be kept in groups of 6

Rainbows grow too big for that tank. So need re-homing.

The pleco is also a bit too big for that tank. They're also huge waste producers. It needs re-homing aswell.

its a kubutu rainbow fish and shoals with my rasbora there kinda a little family now hes got quite depressed since his mate died.

dunno how im gonna rehome the pleco or him tho

yeh i suppose but there so cute i suppose it whether to get rid of him or buy a new tank for him hmmmm

The rainbow fish should grow to 4" and should really be given it's own species to shoal with... They require tanks of around 150l and really good water conditions...

Unless you can afford a 150l tank I really would rehome.

yh i doont know how big a tank you will need because ive never heard of kubutu rainbow but they need to be kept in shaols. if you get red of them this would be a good stock for the 50l

good news the lfs have take the pleco back and now i have two corys the rainbow fish the refused to take back but he looks alot happier now that the pleco has stopped picking on him.

You don't have to euthanise the fish at all...there are plenty of other options. Selling it / Giving it away via TFF for one thing...
Just go to the classified section and put it up for sale.

My recommendations for the rest of the tank are...

4 x Corys
4 x Harlequin
4 x Zebra Danio

Then you're pretty much fully stocked.

nobody would suggest you euthanise it.

You may want to add cory's as they do best in larger groups.

my "rainbow" is not but still classified as unknown AGAIN
