what do people think?
has anyone else done something like this before?
if so, what else should i add? was thinking of some crayfish, thats what this tank used to be for last year.

thanks for looking :)

on a side note, here is my reef tank :)

Looks great. My dream tank has always been to do something like this but for pike, perch and tench.
I wouldnt add a crayfish or the fish will start to disappear.

i had some perch last year, but they ate everything and each other eventually lol

have seen some pretty nice fish in my local river/stream and might have to go get a load and fill it up nicely :)

Is it actually legal to take them from the wild?
Yh perch will do that anything that will go in there mouth is getting eaten.
Some dace would look good and only get to about 2lb

Cool, i would like to keep a native tank, however one thing i have to ask, how long have you had it set up? second thing why i asked first is winter, freezing/glass thats got me worried of cracking or worse shattering

If its in a garage the opps sorry...

Things like Gobio gobio would be cool with some Leuciscus leuciscus...Rutilus rutilus but i would imagine you would need a few powerheads up corner to create a river flow and high oxygenation of tank, I think you would get some good infomation from our nmonks :good:

its outside all year round. been out for over 2 years and all through the snow and freezing ice.
the ice was so thick you could see a layer round the sides of the glass with moving water deep inside lol

Thats crazy I left an empty tank outside (which did fill partially with rainwater) and as soon as the cold weather kicked in it cracked right down the side.

it has a filtyer in though, so the water is constantly moving at the surface, which i would have thought stops its freezing??

You make clear ice for sculptures by keeping the water agitated.
