Thought I would post some pictures of our home made pond at work.

We built it 1 afternoon when we were bored out our heads.

Great looking pond you have there its very nice B) , what are you going to put in it? How many gallons is it roughly?

cheers,

it's got in total about 30 WCMM and different types of danios, a weather loach and stone loach.

it's not many gallons at all, it's about 6x5ft with the corner cut off and 3" deep.

Thats quite a few gallons for an indoor pond though :flex:
Are you planning on getting any more species of fish or just getting different types of danios? If you havn't got them already, i think pearl danios are awesome little fish and very beautiful looking, when in good health their metallic pink realy comes out :)

i think there's a few pearls in there. it was just kind of scoop of fish from each of the tanks then in the pond to aclimatise!

we'ved got another pond similiar on the other side of the door about 1ft deep with a few shubs and sarasa's in. this one looks the best though.

What a great idea!! Hope i get a house with a conservatory or sun room so i can do that. I think its amazing! :)

what an adorable pond!

can i ask what you used to line it, and how? it looks like it would make for an incredibly awkward job.

it's just a 2x4 timber frame and then we laid some old firestone rubber liner down double thickness, cut the decking to fit round the top filled it a bit then screwed it down!
Simple!

we just used bricks to arrange the water walls and put red gravel in the bottom. It's just run by a 700lph pump for the water fall.

So theres no filtration? and how would you do water changes?

sure does, instead of the normal cage we wrapped a large sponge round the pump, that gets cleaned every now and then.

put the hose in a bucket and pump some out for water changes!

Great idea. Ive had hubby looking at it and he's impressed as well. one day i will get one made :hey:
