Our Little Frogs

Did a Huge clean-up job today on our neglected frog tank and though I would share some pics of Bert and Ernie. There was lots aand lots of green algae.

The frogs are Red eyed Tree frogs which I belive are native to the Victorian temperate rain forests in Australia. Have had them for around a year and are fun to watch at night. Don't do much during the day

They are housed in an Exoterra 45 x 45 x x45 Terrarium with a nice little waterfall set up if I do say so myself This lives in our kitchen which adds a nice feature.

They're pretty. We have frogs in our pond which only come out in the summer and spring.

They just bred now. Theres a clump of eggs stuck together.

I'd love to have a pond. Does the croaking get annoying?

Were lucky, I think the frogs are either both the same sex or not interested because I have only heard them croak once. Apparently they only croak whenthey want to get jiggy.

THey don't croak much but they splash around a lot. They also annoy the koi.

We didn't add the frogs, they came out of nowhere. When it's hot they go out of the pond and into our plants which are near the pond.

Do your frogs ever try to escape?

Na never, they're too lazy to be bothered . They know where the next feed is comming from. We have had them jump around the kitchen a bit but that is about it.

I'd love to keep frogs as house hold pets but i prefer lizards, turtles and things like that as you can hold them.

I think they are cute too. Make you just want to hold them all the time, which I can't.
