I've tried cichlid floating pellets, spirulina sticks, shrimp pellets and other mixed flake foods, and he comes up to the surface but doesn't look like he's eating any if it.
I put my hand in there today and it came up and was chasing my hand and nibbling my hand, and if the baby pleco stays still long enough, the knife fish will try and bite it. I tried putting some food in between my fingers but it will ignore it and go for my skin. hehehe.

The knifefish is 5-6 cm long. What do I feed it, I'm abit worried and its such a lovely creature! looks liek a puppy dog and lies completely on one side. very cute :)

Hope you can helpt

try frozen bloodworm or tubaflex, works a treat for my friends bgk

Yeah, that's right. They prefer 'real' foods rather than dried / flake.

Mine take live or frozen dapnia, bloodworm or brine shrimp. They are also partial to smallish garden earth-worms. The only sort of dried food they will attempt is the Diskusin I give to my Discus and even then they aren't enthusiastic.

If your's are like mine, try holding a block of frozen bloodworm in the tank. Mine come up and take it out of my fingers :good:

I feed mine frozen bloodworms, beefhart as well as Krill. I've had him over a year and he/she is prob 8" or so. I got him when he was maybe 3 1/2 " It took him all that time to finally come to the top and eat out of my fingers when I feed him Krill. He does not come up all the time but occasionally.
I use a pair of plastic plant prongs, the ones you buy at Petsmart. I lower 1/4 of a frozen cube of bloodworm, beefheart, or thawed krill in front of his log and he gobbles it right up.
Be patient, and maybe try what I do. Hope that helps.

Mine eats frozen bloodworms and I found out ghost shrimp...So if you want to try a live food I gues you could try that. I bought 6 shrimp and I now have 1 left but I don't know if they should eat them.
