cheers

didnt think they were but i havent seen them for a while (otto's) just wanted to make sure :good:

They're chinese algae eaters.

like most common names, sucking loach is misleading. They are not loaches.

CAEs are the anti-otto. As they grow, they stop eating algae, stop shoaling, and start beating the snot out of your other fish. I'm sure there's a reason for their being so popular, but I'll be dipped in pudding if I know what it is.

yep my friend bought a load of them for his 40 gallon thinking they were ottos when they were put under the name of sucking loach then he noticed they got really big and that they had taken over his tank ?

Fish Index Entry. CAE's are really a specialist fish, but for as long as I have been in the hooby, (over 40 years), these have been sold to beginners. Doubt that will change any time soon, we can only try to warn, but it is usually to late!
