I have a pair of ottos and neither of them appears to be eating much algae, most of the time they appear to be feeding off the bottom of the tank. There's plenty of algae on the sides of the tank and wood, however they seem to spend most of their time at the bottom of the tank rather than sucking off algae. Is this normal for ottos or could something be wrong with them?

I do add sinking pellets for the cory's but the ottos never seem interested in them.

Bits of left over food? Maybe bits of the pellets i feed the corys? Not really sure, whatever is on the bottom i guess :)

I have found this with some of our oto's. They eat when I feed the cories, but only some of them. I have quite a few in my main tank, since they bred a few months ago. But they do still eat algae for the rest of the time. Even with them sitting on the sides of the walls or leaves of the plants, they are eating the algae. I did notice that our females were the one's eating other food, and this was normally before they started spawning. So maybe yours are getting ready to breed!!
