They like to be in groups of at least three I think. That would probably be ok for a 10g. I love oto's they are awesome.

They need REALLY good water quality and a mature tank, though.

Those little tiny fellows can eat a surprising amount of algae. No matter how many you add to your tank, you should be prepared to supplement their diet with blanched zucchini and cucumbers or algae wafers.
