What other fish will make my tank look cool, and which are friendly towards other fish such as oto's.

I was thinking maybe some tetra's but what other nice options are open?
Also i want at least 4 fish in the tank after a week or two from the tank first being started up, so i guess the fish would need to be alittle hardy?

Thanks!

white cloud mountain minnows are really pretty. they could probably survive the cycle, then you could put some tetras in later. gouramis are really nice too (I like honey gouramis...) but they should go in late-ish aswell cos they're not too hardy.

but if you want colourful + hardy then livebearers are always good. :)

Some tetra species (pick the species you like) and some cories would make a nice tank. Except for few species of tetras, most are peaceful, and all cories are peaceful.

In my 10 gal tank, i have black neon, neons, peppered corys, and 2 otos and they do so well each other.

I especially like neons because of there nice color.

But black neons look cool also, and they are hardier than neons.

So, if you like fish with nice color, you can add neons, in my opinion.

They will definitely make your tank look COOL. lol

ottos dont go near the bottom.. they stick to the glass or plants

flame tetras ar nice.. you need 5-6 of them because they will get nippy,,

how big is ur tank?

2ft
3ft
or
4ft?

2ft 6 long

so its just over 2ft long then... wich makes it a 2ft tank...

five cories in there would be a bit crammped for the guys, when i had 12 of them they used to form a line an go through my sand.. in a 2ft with decorations the five wouldnt be able to form a line or be themselfs.. id say 3-4 max

also there wouldnt be enough algea in the tank to keep 5 otos going, try maybe 3 of them? (even though you could supliment them with algea wafers)

i have 3 in a 4ft and they look cool :)

these two species are fine, but imo wouldnt give u a livley tank... adding the tetras would deffo liven it up a notch, maybe add 3-4 scissor tail rasboras as well?

Well, now im pritty limited, i have 6 plants in there and 4sword tails and two other fish (cant remember there breed)
The tank looks quite nice now, and has lots of hiding places in plants etc, so i would think two corys and 2 oto's now would suit, but i will wait at least a month or so till i get them, just to make sure the tank is stable and starts getting established with all the plants spreading etc.
