I recently got some otos, and for the most part they're doing well. Except one. This poor little guy will try to swim up, but then just floats down to the bottom, sometimes landing on his back, sometimes his side. Several times I've thought he died, but when I try to net him, off he swims and tries to hang on the glass but invariably will float down again.

I've had these guys for almost 2 weeks, and I keep thinking this one will either die or come around. I know they're delicate creatures at first, but the others have come around nicely, even the ones in with my tiger barbs (who ignore them).

Is there anything I can do for this little guy?

Otos are well worth quarantining when first purchased, not just for the risk of introducing disease to your main tank, but also to ensure they get a chance to eat healthily without competition during this vital early phase. They often arrive at the fish stores very weak through a lack of adequate feeding after being captured and then shipped.

Thanks. I did just quarantine 4 of them. They were all not looking good. So that leaves 2 in each tank that seem to be doing well, and then 4 in the Q tank. Poor things.
