I just bought my betta a 10 gal tank. I saw it at the pet store and couldn't resist. It came with everything, and was 20$ off, so it was only 50$! so i bought it, and had my boyfriend set it up last night, and now my fish is in it! but he looks a little lonely, so i'm wondering what other kinds of fish i can put in with him, and how many of that kind?

and when do you think i should put the potential new arrivals in, and how? sorry for all the questions but i've never done this before. I need to go out and decorate his tank though becaue right now it looks pretty bare.

thanks for any help!

okay i checked there, and replied, but it says the last post was by wuvmybetta in july 28, so how will anyone know i posted there?

i'm curious about the angelfish wuvmybetta said she had with hers, are they hard to take care of? or what's needed for them?

no angles
they need a tank size of at east 30 gallons, yours is only 10.Plus they are nippers.

how about some shrimp?or maybe some white clouds and an apple snail. :dunno:

you cant put anything with a fancy tail(guppys etc)the betta could fight with it :X

Nooo, I was joking then  I don't have an angel :D
It's okay to start a new topic as well, you're right, sometimes the pins getting bumps goes overlooked and each tank scenario is different.

Some cories might be good in your new 10.

cories look cute (from the pictures i looked up) i think i will look into those, do i feed them the same stuff as my betta? and i know i need tonnnnes more plants and things, seeing as mine is very bare right now

hmmm, I've never kept them so I can't be too much help here. Feel free to ask in the catfish section, they can probably tell you more about their needs.

They like sinking pellets and frozen/live foods. The betta will feed from the top so floating pellets and frozen food will work for him. If you feed frozen it will sink for the cories as well. Otherwise pick up some algae wafers or something for them. I recommend cycling your tank before purchasing them though.

If I had a 10 gallon tank for a male betta, I would put 6 corys in with him. Lots of silk plants and a cave. Smooth gravel or rocks on the bottom to avoid hurting the corys.
