hi guys, i just found my wheather loach eating a fish in my community tank!
im thinking about putting him my oscar tank as he is too big to get eaten by them.
is this a bad idea? will my oscars start ripping him up?

Yes, it is over stocked in the long run, but how big are the oscers right now?

The weather loaches will be consumed by the oscars, easily. Plus, your tank is way overstocked.

Your weather loach could of just been picking at a fish that was already dead, he wouldn't of killed it.

Also, why don't you just switch the tanks around? Put the oscars and the plec in the 80 gallon, then the community fish in your 55 gallon. You wouldn't be overstocked anymore.

ok thanks for your info and stuff guys, however the wheather loach def eat the fish-i watched him, and my wife and i where preiviously discussing swapping tanks anyway.
