I have a 29 gallon tank with 2 oscars 3 angels and a rope fish
they all seem to get along great but i wanna see what u guys think
the oscars never bother the angels or the other way around

any suggestions

IMO, I wouldn't mix Oscars and Angels. You never know when the Oscar will get po'd and kill them. Not to mention a 29g tank isn't big enough for a single Oscar alone.

I'll move this to the proper forum..New World Cichlids.

I AGREE WITH SMB, BUT I DEPENDS ON THE PERSONALITIES OF YOUR OSCARS.. DESPITE THIS YOUR TANK IS WAY TOO SMALL FOR ALL THOSE FISH. MINIMUM WATER REQUIREMENTS FOR AN OSCAR IS 75 GALLLONS FOR 1!!!! EITHER UPGRADE YOUR TANK SIZE OR GIVE AWAY THE OSCARS AND KEEP THE ANGELS.

What if i get ride of the oscars and get some rams. Are they compatible?
You need to get a much bigger tank for the oscars. 50 gallons at least. They get huge! And they are very bad to mix with Anglefish. Baaad choice.

Well, if you take the Oscars out of the mix (which you really must do before they get stunted) then perhaps the rams would be ok. I've never kept any but I've read that they are small and not as aggressive as some cichlids can be.
It would have to be a better choice than Oscars.

i think rams would be a great choice, they are small and nonaggressive, ive acutally had rams and angels in the same tank at work and they got along fine.

Thank you BadLarry! I have a species tank of Angels that I'm fixing to split up. I haven't seen any rams in my area, but if I do, I would really like to try them. Now I know I can indeed keep them together without risking my angels getting beat up!

I'm noy sure I would want to keep rams with a rope fish, they are predatious and would probably have a go at eating a ram if there wasn't much meaty food going into the tank.

Hope this helps

David :fish:

I feed my fish bloodworms once a day and 12 feeder guppys on the weekends.

I have some albino cories in with my fish and the ropefish never touches them.
Ne1 else have a reply? Also what do u feed rams?
