I got a 1 1/2 yr. old oscar from a guy at work and he is about 9 inches. he is in a 33 gallon tank and this week will be moved ointo a 100 gallon tank. But the problem is he won't he eat. Every couple of days he eill eat a few pellets but he has threee feeders in with him and he won't eat them. I also got an albino oscar from the same guy and he is fine. Can someone please help me.

I've just been going through a very similar situation myself. I've had Chester, my rescued oscar, for about 2.5 weeks now, and three of his feeder fish are still in the tank with him (he did eat one). He's still not eating much, but one thing I have found he will eat is live earthworms. Go to a marina or bait shop, or dig some up in your back yard, if you have one. Good luck, and please post back to us in the New World Cichlid forum with news on how he's doing.

Hopefully he'll cheer up when he's into the bigger tank. He'll love having some room.

Keep us posted an how it goes. :)

I have an Oscar and he didnt seem to eat for the first few weeks that I had him. They are very intelligent fish and get unsettled when moved or disturbed.

If I annoy mine even now he wont eat until I leave the room, strange fish

Yea, Oscars are noted for sulking in a corner when you upset them. They don't forget things very quickly either.
