What type of lighting would best suit an oscar tank. I read that they like it on the darker side so I was thinking something along the lines of 2 48" blue actinic flourescent bulbs. Would this be too bright?
I don't know anything about marine bulbs so can't say for sure.
I just use 1 regular fluorescent bulb and that's more than enough lighting. Unless you have floating plants I wouldn't use too much lighting for cichlids.
