oscar jack dempsey mix

has anyone ever heard of or seen a cross between a jack and an oscar? I think it could be possible since they are almost the same size. And they have the same bulky bluntness. Of course oscars may be to smart to cross breed but I am just curious. I my look around and try and find a cross breed of these speices.

You cant cross breed an Oscar with anything but an Oscar, its genus is way off any other cichlids. Kinda like breeding a cat and a Dog, just to differnt.

Do a search of the forum and then a search on google.com claire. I don't think you can hybridize oscars but, if you can, you'll find your answers if you search a little.

found the guy who said he crossed an oscar. i must have mis-understood him or sumthin, turns out it was a dempsey oscar cross, but after he sucessfully mated the pair, (with much trouble), the eggs nvr hatched. im gunna go out and say it cant happen, just too differant i guess
