Oscar Jack Dempsey Breeding?

Could my male oscar and my female JD breed? They are both in a 55G tank together and kill anyother fish I put in there. They are very friendly with eachother and swim next to eachother all the time. She has layed eggs once, but she ate them after 1 day. Can they possibaly breed? Because it looks like they paired off.

Not possible.. not sure if you plan on keeping them in there forever, but 55g is really only big enough for 1 oscar.
