I live in Washington; I would like to order Betta's online seeing how they have such a wider range of types & colors. But I'm not sure how it goes on packaging and other stuff o_O.

I'm also kind of worried it'll carry diseases like ich and what-not :\.

I'd like to get this fellow

wow great fish. If it is from Thailand or Singapor, or in a nother contry be prepared for trashipper fees. Good luck, that is an awesome fish! I hope it works out.

If not in the US, expect to pay around $40 for shipping and other fees. If in the US, express shipping is about $25. You're really best off getting more than one fish, especially if they're from overseas, to help make the shipping worthwhile.

As for the actual shipping, if the fish are healthy before shipping, and the person shipping them do things right, they will be fine. They will obviously be stressed from being bounced around so much, but once they settle in it's all good. :)

After you successfully get them in, I would suggest treating them with something for the recommended period. I love BettaFix for that purpose (the directions state to treat for 7 days). It is fairly cheap, and in my experience, it has been very effective. Aquarium salt should also help to prevent most, if not all, forms of parasites.
