Hi, I have just ordered a custom built tank, hoping for a puffer!
The tank will measure:
length:22"
Depth:15"
Height:13" (16" including hood)
The tank volume will be around 70 litres (15 Imp. gallons)
Will this tank volume be enough to keep a single Figure Eight puffer? I've been told it is.
I understand that the F8 Puffer is brackish, and have been told that a teaspoon of marine salt every water change would suffice? Is this true?
What is the recommended level of salt for a F8?
The tank will have an external Fluval 105 filter.. Over-filtering, right?
Do F8 puffers prefer fast moving water?
I'm going to have at least one large airstone to keep oxygen levels good.. Is this alright?
What is the recommended water change amount each week? 30%? more?
One last thing - what are your opinions on plants? As in - real, or fake/silk plants? Would real plants benefit a puffer? or would silk plants be ok?
Thanks in advance for all information given! Sorry for the posting!
