Hello,

As you can tell from the topic title I ordered 2 Kribs today (a male and a female). They will be going into my community 71/84 gallon aquarium when they arrive next Friday.

My question is, is there anything special that I need to know? The tank has got live plants, copious amounts of bogwood and sand substrate (the fish already there are in my sig as well as 4 Kuhlis, 4 Siamese Flying Foxes and another pleco - L052 or L066). I am not looking for them to breed or anything, I just thought a male and female would be nice.

Thanks for any help and advice.

kribs are the best dwarf cichlid you can get imo, colourful, full of character, and they easily breed in a community tank (although the fry usually get eaten by the other fish). a good choice for all fishkeepers who want a cichlid in their tank. try to make sure they have a cave or flowerpot to hide in when they need it.
by the way, i noticed you have angelfish in that tank, they are also cichlids just unusual looking ones!!

LOL,

I know, I just don't see them as cichlids for some reason! There are plenty of caves for the Kribs and if I need to I can add more no problem. I have so many caves (bogwood made) that I don't see some of my fish for days at a time, they just swim from one piece of wood to the other!!

What will Kribs like to eat? I feed a variety of food to my fish, including - flakes, catfish pellets, algae wafers, freeze dried blooworms, freeze dried tubifex, plec tablets, cucumber and lettuce. Obviously not all at once!!

Thanks.
