In a new tank, when you are ready to put snails and crabs in, what about the other invertibres? In particular I was wondering when I would add an Orange Linkia Starfish? Does he get added when its ready for fish, or does he go first?

The linkia is more of an algae eater and I believe you want your tank more mature. At least a couple months I'd imagine before adding.

thats probably a good idea.....plus don't i need to make sure i dont have any copper in my water?

i should check my chemicals.....

can anyone confirm that assumption???

YES. Copper is fatal to all invertebrates, even in small amounts.

Many medicines have copper in them, and are therefore unsuitable for reef aquaria.

The only invertebrates that can withstand even small doses of copper are hermit crabs, and even they can't take too much.
