sand - how much would be enough??? - depends on how deep you want the substrate to be. Do you plan on keeping anything that likes a deep substrate?

1 x powerhead - nope go for two and aim for 20x turnover

1 x refractomer - good

1 x syphon - ok

1 x heater - I make use of two heaters that are under the wattage. If one fails, I have a back up, make sure it's rated for both FW and SW use

1 x water test kit for ammonia etc will be api liquid - test kits at the beginning stage (high range ph, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate)

1 x phosphate test kit - ok

live rubble for filter chamber - ok

phosphate remover for filter chamber - ok

thermometer - ok
