Oranges and Lemons

I was at Petsmart today and noticed that there were lemon and orange slices floting in the tanks. The fish seemed to enjoy them, does anyone have experience with this? Wouldn't this spike the ph because of the acidic nature of these fruits? Thanks for any help.

I wouldn't think these are good for fish at all,because as you said they are acidic. I know that if I eat too many oranges I get an upset stomach.

I agree, I very much doubt citrus fruits are good for fish. I'm pretty sure they are more delicate than most rodents or birds and people are advised not to feed them citrus fruits due to the acids...

The acidic nature would be a factor especially if the fish were from areas that have water of the opposite nature! I have seen slices of orange and lemon in with goldfish who I doubt really cared that they were there and probably suffered from having them there.
