Orange spotted snail

As anybody heard of the orange spotted snails, they borrow in the sand. I saw some in the shop and want to know more about them but the shop keeper couldn't tell me their proper name.

I know the ones you mean. They are simply, orange spot snails, no other name for them (other that thre latin name). They feed on detritus and uneaten food in the aquarium. make sure that you have a 1" deep+ sand bed to enable them to burrow. They are not suited to new tanks as the sand is not enought life/detritus for them to feed on.

As you said that is the only name the shop could give me. I wanted to find out a bit more about them before I bought any. How safe are they? I can't find anything about them on the web.
