I plan on breeding cherry shrimp for $$ to afford crystal red shrimp. The tank is very large for shrimp (48 us gallons) and would get boring. So is it possilbe i keep orange dwarf crayfish with the shrimp.

Will the crayfish eat the baby shrimp?
I heard the orange crayfish breed easily but do they breed true?

Also how much offspring are born off one pregnet cherry shrimp female?

I can only answer you cherry shrimp question. She had 14 babies last time but i dont know if this is a lot or pitifully low but it gives you an idea........

If i remember correctly Dwarf orange crayfish (cambrellos lobster)
are actually illegal in this country as apparently they are a thret to the
environment.
We orderd some in at the Lfs i worked at unknowingly and Defra came and
took them away to be disposed of.

So i'd steer clear of them.

i live in the u.s and as far as i know its legal because the orange dwarf crayfish is tropical native to mexico or something like that

Yeah they are, i apologise for the mistake ^^
Most of the people i know here are from the uk,
so you tend to generalise things ^^.

From what i know of my breif experience with them, they arnt too difficult to breed.
we had a group spawning in shop.

Im in the UK but kept them for a while in my shrimp tank before returning them to the LFS and letting them know they are illegal here. They can kill cherry shrimp, they chop bits off them and can even kill adult shrimp, they are kept together but you can expect them to kill some of the shrimp.
