Not really sure where to put this one... Not exactly a review but not quite a discussion on tropical fish, so I'm putting it here just in case. Feel free to move this wherever it belongs if not here!

So I stumbled upon Pro Shrimp UK for the first time last night. Absolutely astonished at their prices (and shipping costs) to be honest. Their livestock delivery costs only £9.99 when I've seen most sites charge up to £40 for each livestock order. Not to mention <£10 for 10kg loads of certain substrates. Their range of bits and bobs is also great, and it's almost hard to believe! Not sponsored, by the way, just really shocked with how great this site seems.

So... Is it too good to be true? I'm pretty blown away with all of this, and I wanted to get a second opinion before committing to buying online. If anyone has any experience with this site, please let me know!

Iv never used the site personally but £10 shipping seems really good as you say , Iv always saw shipping costs at £25ish , maybe worth a try as a test and you could let us know weather it’s a good site

I'll post a review if I do! They've got a good selection of shrimp, too... God have mercy, I don't think my wallet can handle this.

I always say nahh I’m not paying for a delivery fee then spend more in petrol going to fish shops ? I know I’d just be so restless knowing they were in the post

My worst experience with livestock was a one-off where I had bought elephant hawk moth caterpillars from a "reputable" seller... All but three out of fifteen larvae died within the first few hours to days. Only one survived from caterpillar to pupa. His name was Jumbo, and his legacy will live on!
Fortunately, nothing that catastrophic has happened since... Now into my third year of raising these little beasts, and hopefully I never get a repeat of that first delivery.

I have bought shrimp and snails from them. Satisfied customer.
I often use them for plants as well, they have always been healthy and are guaranteed shrimp safe.

I got sand and gravel from Pro shrimp, the delivery was super quick and the prices were lower than other websites. I haven't bought any livestock though.

I've bought plants and snails from them. The plants were fine but the snails died within a couple of days - that was my fault. It never occurred to me to check the shipping type as I assumed snails would be the same as shrimps but when I checked later it was actually 2nd class, in winter, and they were in transit for several days. As I say, my fault for not reading the shipping info properly.

Oh, bad luck with that! It's such a pain to get things like that wrong. Or when they give you multiple delivery options and you get confused and pick the wrong one. Not my proudest moment.

They did have an option for next day delivery, I just missed it as the default was 2nd class

Looks like a decent site.
Might give them a try if they ever have any shrimp or snails in.
Everything is out of stock

They stopped selling livestock at the beginning of the first lockdown because no courier could then guarantee next day delivery. They were selling shrimps a few days ago, but they seem to have stopped again - possibly they have sold out because the website does say they are receiving "high demand and an unusual amount of orders". If they started selling shrimps again, everyone would have rushed to get orders in.

Another thing I noticed was that, within the few hours it took me to finish up my evening routine, all the postage dates and livestock delivery costs had gone up. The economy delivery went from 4-5 days to 4-10, the next up went from 2-3 to 2-5, e.c.t... I can't remember how much the livestock postage was but it was originally £9.99 and had gone up to around £15...
This is what I get for hesitating, I suppose!
