Operation "Rescue Betta"!

Hey guys!

As some of you may know, my cycled 5g tank just opened up. I want to rescue a betta from PetCo or PetSmart. I will try to find one that either has fin rot, or some other disease. I will take him home to my 5g filter/heated tank, and I will fix him up! I will give him a better life.

I'm really excited for this. Although, I'm not sure when I will get to go to a store like that for a while. You never know. I will keep you guys updated on when/if I get one.

(Note: I do have a lot of medication to treat common diseases)

That's so exciting! I love rescuing fish, I think it's awesome to give them another chance.

Guys, I got one today! Still to early for pictures.

He does have some problems... he is staying at the bottom on the tank and gasping.

I think maybe you should add an airstone. Even though a Betta is a labyrinth fish, seeing he isnt going to the top, he may not be getting enough oxygen.

Ok, I put the airline tubing from my 20g long into the 5g tank. That may have been the problem, I don't know...

Also, I don't have an actual air stone yet. Is that a problem? (I just have the end of the air tubing blowing bubbles.)

He is still near the bottom and not very active. I think there may be something wrong with his spine...?
