My opaline gourami all of a sudden started to swim rapidly like never before and is pushing on the glass like it trying to escape, had him for a week so far and hes been fine the whole time. I just added a bolivian ram about an hour and a half ago. Could that have anything to do with it. I also have a britlenose and a RTS but the shark never bothers him. I just tested the water and the ammonia and nitrites are 0 with a 5-10ppm for nitrates. I also adjusted the heater to a tilt instead of vertical so the heater is working more and the temp has gone up to where it should be 76F.

Could the temp change do it?

I also added aqueon dechlorinator/stress reducer to help reduce stress to the opaline and the bolivian. He (the opaline) seems to have calmed down a bit but not totally.

Also why does he always have poop hanging from him?

that breed of ram are known to be aggressive fish..the ram is most likely the one harassing the fish and is trying to claim territory.

No I've been watching the tank for awhile but none of the fish bother him since I removed the tiger barbs 2 days ago.

He is still shy and hasn't been bothering any of the fish yet at least. the ram has been chased by the RTS a few times actually but no nipping quick 1-2 sec chases.

The opaline has calmed down though and seems back to normal. Im assuming it was the slight rapid temperature change so will see in the morning. Thanks for the input!
