I was siphoning from my tank this morning and I accidently sucked up a neon tetra! oops . Better be more careful next time! It was lucky I saw him go because he was virtually invisible in the black bucket. Took me ages to catch him and put him back. Nervermind though seems unaffected!!

Those little guys can move too fast for their own good, sometimes. It's a good thing you were watching what you were doing, and kept a cool head, or he would have been a goner.

I have never had that happen but I have heard about it from a lot of people so I guess its a pretty common occurance. My siphon doesn't seem strong enough to suck fish up, whenever it comes near them they all swim away without any struggle. I just have to be careful when I do water changes in the fry tank, they are so tiny I would never see them in the bucket.

didn't think this would happen to me.... but it did today. One dead fish from Mother In Law's tank. I was using 15mm tubing instead of my normal 6mm. Go back to the 6mm kev, it takes time, but at least the fish can't get up it.
