I just bought Tank 3!!!! argh!!!!!!! I did aim to get a small plastic tank... sorry BBA :) ....But instead i asked locally and got one for £20 inc gravel,Fluval 2+ filter and an airstone I tried my best to explain to hubby..it was a hospital tank...and it can live in my sons room, maybe with a few Mollies in..until needed as a hospital tank..then they can lodge in Tank 1 with the other community fish i get. :/ i'm sure he thinks ive gone MAD... we now have 3 tanks cycling..(i want to ensure this tank is properly cycled) so will test it with ammonia first.
BUT we do have livestock.....a fleet of snails...i didnt really want them..but they were in the gravel :/ i havent a clue what they are...they are brown with kinda tiny dots on...there was one empty shell in there, that one was beigey in colour, i fished it out...any ideas..i tried to get a pic of the brown ones but they are tiny...i think we have about 6/7 at a guess..hard to see.

im under strict instructions NO more tanks! oops :D

Wow 3 tanks already!
I think you should wait till one of your tanks cycles before starting this one cycling - then you can seed from both tanks.

I'm glad for the lack of space I have. I only have my bedroom to keep my tank in. Else, I'm sure I'd either have multiple tanks or would have invested in a MASSIVE one by now.

One of my dreams, even since I was young, is to have one of those lovely round tanks that go in the corner of the room, filled with marine fish.

Haha, i am very tempted in buying a 2nd tank :hyper:

Funny how fast a new hobby can take hold of you.

the snails look like this

Common Pond Snail i do believe :) can be considered as pests, i've got 2 maybe 3 in my community never had any rise in there population, but the eggs are more than likely eaten

I have all mine in my bedroom, only just room for me with 7!

I'm on tank 5 and I have gotten to the point where my husband is very interesting...he is planning our next tank. A 200 gallon monster that I have no idea where we are going to put.

if its in the kitchen, stick something under it so knocks to the counter when putting cups down etc dont rattle through to spook the fish and stress them. Tanks in the kitchen are just pure torture in my opinion.

Snails are Physa sp. (Common names: Tadpole Snail or Pouch Snails). Totally harmless :)

One of mine has been in the kitchen top for over a year and unless you have piranha or other skittish fish its not a problem. It does help if you not a complete ape and place a cup down instead of slamming it lol :good:

I thought the thread was going to be full of lyrics from a Britney Spears song.
Snails are not a bad thing but you do not really want them in a new tank. Are you changing substrate?

I had my tank in the pass through window of the kitchen (this was when my 10g was my main tank) and this fish would always crowd around the side when I was doing dishes and stare at me lol
