... We got a big ol' male peacock mantis in at work before I ordered the tiny O. havanensis. He was too tempting, so now he's in a 20g long. It's very low-tech, no skimmer even (although we may get one eventually), but it's running smoothly thus far, I've just been doing frequent waterchanges... with all my freshwater tanks, I'm used to that! :D We haven't even really had much in the way of algae problems.

Whoa, goin big there with the nem's and alveopora. Good thing it looks like you have siginificant light on there :)

Love that mantis, so colorful :D

Very nice Mantis!

I thought your first picture that you posted was very funny. If that snail on your powerhead goes any further up it's going to get blown into next year

You'd think so, but the lighting is nothing special, just a single 96W compact fluorescent. Too much lighting can cause shell disease in mantids, and large male peacocks like Stagger are especially prone to it. Both those anemones are low-light varieties (infact the smaller one had to be moved several times when I first added it because it was getting too much light and pouting), and the alveopora prefers moderate lighting... which is why it's no longer on the top of the rock mound next to the light like it was originally. The polyps never fully extended up there :/. The flower anemone has crawled behind a rock now, further from the light... and unfortunately where I can't see it very well :p. I can still grow SPS if I put them up close to the light too, so that works for me. The tiny SPS frag I have in there is growing like a weed!

love the tank
