Today I took a trip to another fish store I have discovered fairly recently, and came home with a few purchases. :p I had been eyeing a certain type of fish since I saw them there last week, and decided I couldn't pass them up.... What did I find? *drumroll*

Croaking Gouramis!!

Whoooooot! I'm so excited, as they are very rare from what I hear, and I've never seen them in person before. They are CUTE!!!! They looked a little boring in the store tank, but now that I have them home, they are bright shiny silver, with irridesent red and neon blue on their fins. Just gorgeous, IMO! They are already making themselves at home, and so far, quite fine in their community. They even ate already. :D

I did a lot of research before buying them (whoo trust me, was hard not to get them the first time I saw them...), and found that a lot of sources claim they are shy and don't necessarily fit well in communities. However, after talking to people who have actually owned them, it seems they can be just a fine little community fish, provided they aren't with anything extremely active or territorial. Hopefully this will work. They have plenty of places to hide, since the 6 is now planted, so I'm feeling comfy. YEY! Had to share the good news, I'll keep y'all updated on them.

P.S. Also picked up a wonderful betta, I'll post about him in that section. Oh! And this store is incredible as far as rare fish - they also had chocolate gouramis, along with TONS of rare plecos and cories. I couldn't believe all the kinds of cories - most I hadn't even heard of (Inchworm you'd love it)!!
