I am wanting to puchase some Marine fish online as I live in a very rural area and the local shops dont ever seem to have what I am wanting. I have checked out liveaquaria .com, saltwaterfish.com, anda Jawz, net but would like to broaden my search . Any help would be greatly appericiated.

try petsolutions.com, exoticfish.com both have great shipping rates and i believe a 14 day gaurantee on livestock ordered

I'd still recommend going through your LFS for fish. Usually you can just tell them what you want and have them order it. They'll just put it in with their next order, and it won't cost them anything more for shipping than it usually would. They make a profit, and you save $20 or so on shipping... you just might have to wait till their next order in a week or so.

Hi..I've used liveaquaria.com almost half a dozen times. I have fish from them going on almost a year now. I just purchased my sixline wrasse from them and it's gorgeous. I agree with above tho'...if you can find what you want locally, I think that is the safest method to bring home your fish (IF they take care of their tanks). On the other hand, liveaquaria goes to great methods to send healthy ones...in fact..once my FW fish arrived in methylene blue to protect them. They also guaranteed them for 2 weeks. I recently lost colony polyps from them and they completely refunded my money. SH

I just used them, too, and I was very happy with the results. There are only three local stores that have marine fish. One is a joke. It's a pet store that specializes in puppies and kittens, but has other stuff. They have a very, very small selection of tropical fish and know nothing about them.

The next is a store that sells nothing but aquariums and fish, but they don't take good care of their livestock.

The last is a marine-only fish store. They're really good, they take great care of their stock, the quarentene all new arrivals before they ship them, and won't sell any that look or act sick until they're better, and they're all hobbiests, as well as professionals. The problem is the price.

I bought a Oriole/bicolor Angelfish from liveaquaria for $14 that was selling for almost $50 locally. I just can't afford to buy from the local store too often. :(
