One Of My Bettas Eating My Glow Lights

i just recently added 10 glow light tetras (got the remaining five over the weekend) to my 30g with my females well with in 3 days i had four fish dead, every thing is fine in the tank they adapted pretty well but i couldnt figure out why they were disappearing..as i was counting them to make sure i still had 7 left i counted six and was looking for the 7th one, i found it alright found it in Alice's mouth!!

so back to the drawing bored to find bigger tank mates because the glow light tetras are to small and are being eaten, idk why every one is eating i feed them twice a day

Were they baby ones? ive got glowlights in with my females and ive never had any problems, they are bigger than my females mouths.

Are you sure they were alive when they were eaten?

A glow light adult is plenty big enough not to be considered food by an adult betta of either sex.

Well I saw her consume half adult size glow light tetra but I'm not tryin to argue Or any thing

roughly in milimetres how big are the glow light tetra's because they can reach about 25mm which is suprisingly big. maybe yours are just baby ones. also maybe you have big bettas lol

i always think threadfin rainbow fish look nice with bettas as long as your individuals arent to nippy and the tanks big enough

crap your making me use the converting i learned in physics which im horrible at lol , their a little smaller than 25mm not much i think i do cus they all looked kinda smaller when i was in the store and i do have a couple big bettas in my tank lol

ive never heard of those but i looked them up on google and their pretty looking but idk if their fins would survive in my tank as my girls can get a little nippy to others even though i have them in a 30g and they are accepting to other fish

25 mm is an inch, as close as you can tell by just looking.

When I had a Betta I would through a dozen white cloud babies in with him and he would through down eight of them in less than a minute. Sure they were babies but he would eat them ALL!!! I guess what I'm saying is I believe you.

I finally got every body eating regular now and I haven't lost any more glow lights Im down to six and haven't lost any more, I think Alice wasn't taking to fondly of the betta pellets and decided to help herself to my glow lights lol
