I have 6 new denisons barbs (1” – 2”) in a mature 90g. Five of the six have grown VERY fast and one other is not growing at all. I have had these fish for 4 weeks. The one that is not growing feeds almost as much as the other 5 but he is still not growing. I know this can be a sign of a parasite infection. Recently I notice a white patch on his caudal fin and a red ulcer or sore in that area. It actually looks like part of his caudal fin is broken or separated from the muscle part of his body! I want to emphasize this fish is still feeds and and swims well but is definitely slightly slower than the rest of the shoal. What should I do?
I do have another mature 10g tank that I can quarantine this fish in but Im concerned about moving him out of the shoal and him getting stressed and not feeding at all...
Please any advice would be appreciated, these are my favorite and most expensive fish; I want to save this one if I can. Based on his growth rate Im concerned for his chances for survival.
Cheers!
