It rankles a bit when Alex Ferguson gets a knighthood on the back of winning a single European Cup and 5 league titles, which is what he had achieved in 1999 when he was awarded it.
Many Liverpool fans and most non Liverpool fans only ever consider Shanks as the best manager of Liverpool, but Bob Paisley serverd Liverpool for over 50 years as a player/coach/manager and as a manager in 9 seasons he won SIX league titles and THREE european cups (one more than any other English club has managed in total in their entire history) but never received the knighthood
I'm by no means saying that Ferguson doesn't deserve one, on the contrary as one of the most successful managers, he certainly does. But bearing in mind at the time it was issued, he was a league and 2 european cups down on Paisleys achievements (Even now he's only won 2 more titles (probably 3 soon
) but is still 2 european cups down 
and has been at it 20 years), surely Paisley also deserves one, even if it is a posthumous honour?
