Hi. My guppy have birth to 52 fry yesterday. (How exhausting!) all of the dry but one seem healthy and active. The one fry is darker in color, weaker, and spends a lot of time sitting at the bottom. Does anyone know why?

I'm afraid it's common for animals that have large numbers of babies to occasionally have one that hasn't grown properly before birth, or has some other birth defect; a runt, in other words.

There's not a lot you can do, except try and make sure it gets some food, doesn't get picked on, and keep your water in tip top condition.

In the past I've had several sort of charcoal colored guppy fry... none of them ever survived.  Some looked healthy for the first couple of weeks but always ended up dieing.  No explanation for it.  I was always disappointed, always wondered what those dark ones would have looked like.
