i'm so excited!!!!!!!!
i don't know if they are common wherever you guys come from but where i come from it is VERY hard to find anything but veiltail betta

well guess what i found!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i was looking in a dark algae covered bucket and could see some dingy looking female betta...
when i lifted the bucket under the light to my surprise i saw a small bright purple crown tailed FEMALE betta!!!!!!!!!!
she's breath taking!!!!!!!!!
i snatched her up immediatley........ along with some more finned friends i couldn't resist )
shhhhhhhhh.......
don't tell anyone!

just like you i can't find anything but veiltails!!!!!!!!!!
and they are all COMMON colours
i found my little beauty in petcetera (imagine my surprise!)
it was the ONLY crowntail i have ever seen neer me and the brightest colours!
it was a total fluke (sorry )
i almost didn't see her in her dirty bucket!
she looked dingy and gross till i put her under the light and now that she is in my tank she looks fabulous!!!!!!!!
really pretty shade of purple to!

do you ever make it out to richmond? there is a mall off of blundel and 3rd that has a great little shop called "fin-omenal fish" (or something like that, i can never remember) and the owner breeds show quality bettas. they have a monthly bc betta association meeting there too, marianne the super breeder from bcbetta.com sometimes shows (and sells) her fish in the shop as well. check it out, they are very nice.

i was in there last month and she (the owner) had some nice delta and super delta, a few fan tails too if i recall. the first time i ever visited the shop i picked up this little guy, a piebald butterfly for only $8.00. females are usually a couple of bucks i think if you buy a male too.

oh oh, big hint, if you join the bc betta association (register in the shop) it's only $10 dollars, you get a discount at the shop and best of all you get a pair of beautiful bettas bred by marianne for free.
