Holy moley! I cleaned my filter out so the flow was stronger did a 10% wc because I did a large one the day before. After feeding this morning I go too look at them and I saw the T and then I saw her holding the egg.

I am so excited. I wanted to get more of these guy now I can raise the eggs.

I'm so shocked. It's crazy I went from all my corys would die to them spawning.

I only saw her lay one egg. Now she has stopped. She is only an inch and a half big I think this would be her first spawn. I think it's my acara fault I'm moving her to her own tank today when I get a chance my daughter is teething.

Omg I just looked over and saw them in T positon floating. Then they went to the leaf and my stupid acara nipped at them. I'm getting her out now got to go.

MY blue acara is out. I'm going to keep a close eye on them. Trying to find the eggs is hard.

Good for you, snowflake311:) Your persistence has paid off. While C. pandas are not the easiest cory to get established in your tank, you are likely to find that their fry are no more difficult to raise than those of any other cory.

There are two things you should be aware of with them. First, they tend to be egg eaters and second, they will try to hide their eggs. You can solve this problem by removing the plants and hanging a few metal thermometers in the water flowing from your filter. They will often hide their eggs on the underside of them like this:

The thermometers can then be lifted out and hatched in another tank. Since this makes it unnecessary to handle them, it also reduces the risk of damage to them. They will darken considerably in the 3-4 days it takes for them to mature. Here's a batch that is ready to hatch at any time so you can see what they will look like.

C. pandas will often produce small batches on a frequent basis. I hope to see more good news from you soon. :D

Thanks inchworm for the helpful info. I don't think I got the acara out in time I'm pretty sure she got an egg or 2. I will have to wait till next time I think unless some eggs are hidden.

This shop had good size healthy pandas I got lucky. I'm going to go back and see if they have more I want one more.

I am so happy for you, the hex is lifted :good:

What filter have you got, if it's internal and there's space for the corys to get behind, check there. Mine are little rats and put them there just to watch me try and get them.

The best bit is now that they have done it once, they wont stop, finger crossed for you any way. I wouldn't get another just yet, the ones you have already seem settled and healthy.

If things don't turn out this time, keep them well fed, and in about two weeks do a water change. Drop the water about temp by about 1/2 degrees cel, and I bet next day they are at it like rabbits.

Good luck.

I regularly play a hunting game for eggs has my trilineatus hide them everywhere

Thanks guys I did a small water change tonight. I'm going to wait and see if I get more eggs. I did get one more panda. they had a few left from the batch I got these from. I'm slowly letting him adjusting with the drip method.
