I was doing my normal rounds, checking my snake, turtle, and fish. When I get to the bettas i began to feed some of them then i go to my breeding pair and put in the female chimney for an hour then let them get together for two, when i came back the nest had little white dots in them(everytime the bubbles left the nest the male would go and get them) :hyper: so i took out the female immediately...so when should i take out the male and when can I start feeding the fry...when can i even expect fry!!! :hyper: :good:

in addition the nest looked a bit small but i didnt want to risk leaving the female(she was hiding on the other side of the tank anyway.

Take out the male when the fry are swimming. If the temp is 82 Degrees then they should be swimming about 5 days after. Feed them a day after they are swimming so they can fully eat their egg yolks.

was good to move the female when you did, the male needs to come out when the fry are free swimming (3 days time) when you take him out then this is the time to start feeding your fry.

make sure you also keep a light on for him for 4 whole days as he will need it to keep the eggs in the nest, he wont sleep for this period and dont feed him in this time either.

fry take 3 days to be freeswimming not 5 and most will have eaten their yolks by the 3rd day so need feeding at this time.
