Omg Angelfish Ate My Tetra

I have 4 cardinal tetras in my tank,or should i say did..... I had one cardinal that kept hiding wouldnt come out from the rocks thought it was just been shy.....it use to peep out then go back in. last night it ventured out and the angel fish and other fish started having a go at it all of a sudden the angel fish caught it and ate it. I was totally gob smacked never seen anything like it. my son and hubby said it must have been sick thats why the other fish ate it........the angel fish dont bother with the other 3 that are swimming around. I have a silver shark as well and even that had a go. Any idea why this has happened?

The others have already covered it, small fish are the natural diet of Angel Fish.

Whilst not overly a fish eater, when the Silver Shark is large, it will regard small fish as insignificant tidbits and eat them as well, and at the size Silver Sharks grow to "small fish" can be pretty large.

lateral line has summed it up nicely. angels love to eat small fish and fry. i no its mean but i alwase have an angel where i have guppys (in large tanks only) just to keep the pop. down if u no what i mean. just a high protein food... and i have to place to get rid of guppys.. anywase yea small fish + angels = dinner
