If there is a bright spot in the universe I'm in t
I was just given an old 10 gallon tank. It had been sitting for a very long time in a barn and now has deposits (the best word I could think of) all over it. I'm not sure if it's hard water or calicum or what. Any advice on how to get this stuff or is this tank not useable. Thank You!!

If these are bases that have accumulated on your tank, a mild acid should be able to dislodge them...

Are you sure it's from the water that was once in the tank, or could it be other things that collected over the years?

What kind of mild acid do you suggest? You know I have no idea what this stuff is, it's like a hard film on the sides of the tank. I went and tried a vinager and water solution and that took off very little to none of it. Thank you for the reply, write back with anymore advice please!!
