I got some (20 pounds) of live rock from a friend who took some out of his tank. It has some very nice reds and greens but is sat in a bucket of salt water for two weeks. It of course has some die off and smells somewhat bad. I put it in an empty tank with NO animals in an attempt to "cure" it once more. I do not have an extra skimmer to put on the ten gallon tank I am using but I am heating and filtering it and have some incandescant light on it. (It was all I had to spare.) I would welcome suggestions on how to bring this rock back to a good state...all ideas are welcome. Any chance that the desireable algae will survive this disaster. I wish he would have called me sooner...LOL

Over time it should cure quite nicely in your holding tank. Just make sure that if you have no skimmer then you are exporting DOCs in another way, i.e. weekly water changes at least.
