Ive had a betta for over 3 years now and i wonder if anyone knows what the longest life of a betta may be. Ive heard from most people that its usually around a year but this thing just doesnt seem to want to die.

i think normaly its 3years but one of my old veiltails is almost 4years old and still going strong so i spose it depends on how they are looked after and fed, but i dont think they could ever live as long as something like an oscar and others. maybe 5 years 6 pushing it

yours is pretty old!ive heard of them living 5 years but i think the aerage age is around 3

Doing very well if you have kept a betta alive that long, good job, i think it can be four years, well done.

ive heard the average is 3 years. but ive had one that lived 2 years an b4 that my cousin owned him from a fry for 4 years. so thats six...old ass betta he didnt even look that old either.

Great yeah we ususally had bettas for a few months and i was kinda bummed out but this one is going 3 years and still kicking. I dont have any awesome betta stories but i do know that my aunt had a gold fish that she got at a fair for 9 years i believe and this fish was so sad looking towards the end of its life i believe it started to decompose before it passed, how about that... Yeah so anyways she ended up bringin the thing to a vet to see if he can figure out how it died. He refused to autopsy
