a small Yellow CLown Goby less than 1 inch. it is very cute thing now i hope it doesn't fight with my two clown fish but i was told not it won't. i'll try to take pics soon. is it true they will come to the surface when i feed them so i don't need any special food that sinks?

You should just feed all the fish food that sinks slowly, when the powerheads get into it and all it will be spread out evenly through the tank. So your basic pellet flake or frozen food is fine. I dont have exact clown goby experience, but from what ive seen of gobies and fish closely related to them, they are very nervous fish, and while, if coaxed, they will go to the surface, most of the time the clowns will scare them back down without any food.

I have a yellow watchman goby and a firefish.

one of the most amazing species of marine fish IMO.

they wont stray much further than an inch...and are perfect for clowns, they tend to hang around and hover in the water. and they will skip from rock to rock...they will feed at any part of the tank...they will hang around a spot...see some food dart out and return...its very cute, they will also hang out on the glass sometimes.

i find a mixture of brine shrimp and mysis makes a good staple diet...but for the first few days its very important to get the eating as most will be very picky in the first few days. if you dont get it feeding it will wither away.

for the first few days try brineshrimp soaked in garlic...if it wont touch that try some mysis...if that doesnt succeed then some chopped prawn and mussel will get him going.

if you want any more info check out the species profile i wrote in the saltwater fish species section

i think i have a problem. the little goby (i'll call him charlie) swam out of the rock for a few seconds and my two clownfish went at him scareing him poking him away into the rocks. ooooooo i hope this doesn't become an issue maybe they will eat him lol he is so small :p

this should calm down...i had the same problem and it eventually phased out.

for them to lay eggs you need some form of SPS or a fake SPS coral for them to spawn on...i would not put a pair in anything smaller than 30 gallons because of aggression issues...but i think your tank is 30 gallons isnt it?

yes i have 30gal with 2 clowns and now this goby. i didn't really want to buy big fish. they had some other type of clownfish but i wasn't sure cus of the agressiveness that may happen.

the little guy seems to not wanna come out, i hope he eats something :p
