Ok With A Betta?

Hi,

I've got a tank with a terrible algae problem, I was thinking about putting the fish from there in to another tank, but I have a Betta in there will they be ok? it's 4 neon tetra's and 3 Chili rasboras...don't want them to get hurt!

Any advise would be great

It will depend almost entirely on your bettas temperament - some will accept most other fish, some will attack snails. What is the algae issue? Most can be dealt with with the fish in the tank. I'd advise more neons and rasboras though - ideally they both need a minimum of 6, though more is always better. What is the tank setup they are in (with the algae) and what is the tank setup with the betta?

It's a hair algae I think, it's clinging to the side of the tank and well everywhere really! I've been cleaning every 3-4 days, tank needs to be moved, it's not in direct sunlight but i think the area is just too bright...
The Betta is a happy chap, got some snails, shrimp and a frog with him and they all get along fine (so far!) the Betta tank is a 64ltr and the other is a 30ltr Biorb.
Would love to get some some Chili Rasboars but their really hard to get hold of at the moment...LFS never seem to have them.
How else can I treat the algae?

The Chili rasboras aren't on this list but several other rasboras are so I would think they would be fine. It seems the trick is to take the betta out first and rearrange the tank, put the other fish in and then put the betta back. This way you trick the betta into thinking he is being moved into the other fishes territory and is less likely to defend his territory. Let me know how it works for you as I am planning something simular in the next few weeks myself.
