Hi everyone looking for some advice on what fish to stock with Corys and if it is ok to mix different types of corys together?

My aquarium is 260litres and will be ready to stock in a few weeks time (hopefully)

I really like the corys so they are a must for me, i also already have a common plec which will need moving into this tank due to it out growing my smaller tank.

What fish will mix with the corys best? I would also like a large friendly species to be the focul point of my aquarium, i was thinking about having two angel fish however i have been told they can be aggresive towards other smaller fish and may try to eat them if not fed enough.

Any help will be greatly appreciated :)
Thanks
Wayne

Some cool centerpiece fish can be pearl gouramis, some GBR or bolivians, and angels need a very tall tank as they grow more vertically then anything else, You could do some other south american dwarfs like apistos (which I hope to be getting soon)

Thanks for the fast response, on the above fish you suggested what sort of sizes would i be looking at? Also how many can be stocked together?

Not GBRs. They need higher temps. Bolivians, though, are a possibility. For a center piece, i would do a pair of Laetacara Dorsigera. Beautiful, small fish.

Thanks for that :) what type of bolivians would you recommend? I dont think my tank set up would suit the Laetacara Dorsigera as it is very bright and has a pretty fast current with not many live plants.

I have planty of rocks, bogwood and fake plants to provide hiding places and i am using a sand substrate. Any recommendations based on that?

Thanks

I have 3 different types of Cory cats in my 80gal. I love collecting the left over Cory cats from my LFS. If I see 2 of the same kind I buy them both for my tank that already has other Cory cats.

I find they enjoy the company of their own kind but are happy following other types of Cory cats. I always try and keep 3 of the same kind. I did just buy only 2 skunk corys but that's all they had left.

I have a big old bolivians ram with my Cory cats. They get a long great no problems. They ignore each other.
